While our city offers a great range of waterfront it is important to note that all of Wilton Manors waterways are accessible under a series of fixed bridges with no more than 6 foot clearance so Wilton Manors is not a sailboat or even a yachting area.

Its however great for small and medium sized boats, jet skis, paddle boards and kayaks!

Key Boating Considerations

Looking for Waterfront Real Estate in Wilton Manors – here are some key boating considerations.

The largest boats that can be accommodated in Wilton Manors Waterfront Home will typically be boats under 20ft -25ft with a low profile and small runabouts.

Waterfront properties on the eastern end of Wilton Manors are even more restrictive as you go under more fixed bridges working your way west, so only smaller boats, kayaks and canoes will be parked on your dock.

The rivers that surround Wilton Manors are typically around 130 feet wide and the canals are all at least 50 – 60 feet wide so there is plenty of space for the smaller boats to navigate under the bridges.

When considering adding a dock to a home for sale here in Wilton Manors most waterfront home lots have 70+ feet of waterfront so you can have up to 60 feet of dockspace

The fixed bridge factor is important when considering and looking at Waterfront Real Estate in Wilton Manors.

At the east end of the city, closest to US1 (it’s eastern border ) there are places that involve only two fixed bridges before you are in the intercoastal.

This area – South East Wilton Manors is typically the most expensive when in comes to Wilton Manors Waterfront Homes for Sale and Real Estate in general!

A big reason for this difference in prices is that in the South East neighborhood of Wilton Manors you can comfortably accommodate a 25 foot day cruiser.

Important to note is that prices for South East Wilton Manors waterfront homes have increased by over 110% since 2011!

As you head further and further west you will see more and more kayaks and canoes, even a spot where you can rent a kayak for the day, but the power boats get smaller as the fixed bridges get lower

The breaking point for real estate prices is the train bridge near Dixie Highway. Once you are west of this bridge you are talking about flat boats and living on the water because of the natural environment it creates.
